I thought I would revisit a beautiful family session I photographed last summer. Its been up on the blog before where I shared some previews but recently decided to recap over it are share you a whole load more!

I have known Hannah since college as we both studied photography together so it was definitely an honour to be asked to photograph her and her family. After the arrival of her beautiful niece Sophie, they all decided it would be lovely to get some memorable photographs together for keepsakes. As I already knew Hannah and knew she has the most beautiful doggies I said she should bring them along, who doesn’t love animals on a family session, they are family too! Plus a bunch of adults, 3 dogs and 1 baby will be easy to photograph right? Yes, yes it will! Hannah and her family decided on Thorndon Country Park for their session which is a beautiful country park near Brentwood in Essex. Great for the dogs to have a run around too which is a must!

Sunday afternoon I was greeted by Hannah, her Mum and Dad, Brother Matt and her other Brother Daniel with he’s wife Jess and daughter Sophie. It really was a fun filled family session with a whole bunch to photograph. Lets not forget their dogs, three beautiful Alaskan Malamute’s; Tikaani, Skye and Teyah that obviously made it into the family portraits. We explored a big chunk of the country park, over looking a big lake and into the woods. Some big portraits on a broken down log and lots of baby cuddles of course! Ending with a little baby feed and some howling from Tikaani. It was brilliant!

This family session really does represent so beautifully me and my work. It shows a pure guide to exploring out breathtaking outdoors, local country parks and the great landscapes of Essex’s country side. The whole feel from my lifestyle sessions are totally chill and relaxed. All greenery and earthy tones draw each and every photograph together to create the most beautiful series of portraits and memories. I love to focus on detail and emotion, from start to finish. Capturing everything that represent your family.

I cannot wait to be back in the open, exploring forests and woodlands with families documenting their happiness and precious moments together.

This session was a little different to any I had done before. It had been years since I shot something along these lines and it was usually for project work whilst I was at college and uni.

This beautiful family I love so very dearly, they mean the world to me and throughout the years have photographed some of the members as working products or sample sessions when I was younger and dreamt of being a self employed photographer. Funny how things turn out eh!

Natasha is my sister, older but smaller and Stuart is her partner. Between them they have 5 beautiful children who I absolutely adore and a dog who Stuart would class as the 6th child. When my sister asked if she could book a family session last December I giggled. I wasn’t sure if she was serious or not? Like I say for years I had used my niece and nephew in project work as models and did plenty of lifestyle stuff with them when they was younger. I thought she was honestly messing so I said yeah of course I’ll take some photos of them! She said, no I mean I want to actually book a an hour lifestyle session. It actually came as a little shock and struck me as a surprise. The sweetest thing, I couldn’t believe she wanted me to create work for her and her family. It honestly was a proud moment.

We booked their family session in for early December (it was my only date available) and decided to set off to our local Nature Reserve! Again, my absolute favourite place around the Romford area. We know the space so well as it works no matter the session so that was a no brainer.

This session was special, not only was it to get some lovely memories and a beautiful family portrait for my sister, but my mum came along and also Stuart’s Dad who lives in America. He was over visiting for Christmas so again made total sense to capture some beautiful memories.

This has to be one of my favourite winter sessions! The colour pallette from this winter’s day was absolutely beautiful and I must say, I do love a big family session!

Ah well, how do I begin… Kathy contacted me a short while before her wedding looking for a photographer. She had seen my work and loved my style. When talking about her wedding it was going to be totally relaxed. We had a lovely video call to discuss all their plans and for me to give over some ideas etc. This was really lovely as I was able to see them and have a good old chat before their big day. I always give this option to anyway to get to know me and visa versa, especially if they good a little last minute.

Kathy and Andy got married at Apton Hall, a venue I had not shot at but had a wedding booked for next year that I was looking forward to. To be able to shoot there this year was amazing as I love going to new venues! Aston Hall is such a beautiful venue, very sleek and stylish with so much detail that you almost don’t need decor. Kathy and Andy were spending the morning together totally relaxed with the children in a very easy going, chilled out space. They had the bridal suit at Apton Hall which was beautiful and had enough room for all there that morning.

During bridal prep I was greated by Andy who gave me a little tour of the venue, then headed upstairs to meet Kathy who was with her Mother, Sister and all the children. Shortly after some guests began to arrive including two of Katy’s best friends who then joined us upstairs too. The decor to Apton hall was totally minimal and elegant, the venue is absolutely beautiful without the added extras so what Kathy and Andy had done really completed the look. The opted for two different wedding cakes, a rustic semi naked multiple tier cake with added floral detail and then a cheese cake which looked absolute amazing.

Their ceremony was totally relaxed and informative. With them walking down the aisle together to just the general flow of the day. Their love beamed throughout the venue and the ceremony was so lovely with the sweetest words read from family and friends. Joint moments at the top of the aisle and 3 beautiful little girls little in with the biggest smiles at the happiness around them. I spent pretty much the entire day at Apton hall for Kathy and Andy’s wedding and throughout the day just got better and better. With weather not being the best it really didn’t put a dampen on anything. After the ceremony we went straight into some couple photos, with umbrellas in hand we took a walk around the venue and it really wasn’t as bad as I though for my first very rainy wedding! After some group shots in the ceremony room it was time for some food and a little break.

After the meal it was time for speeches, they were emotional and so sentimental. Written from the heart and so raw. There is nothing more beautiful that reminiscing over memories and journeys between my wedding couples. It gives me an even bigger insight to them as a couple and to everyone present on the day, both friends and family I imagine it to be so magical. Kathy and Andy’s love story was so beautiful and they are definitely made for one another. Andy’s speech of humour and tears was so memorable and he is an amazing man. As is Kathy an incredible kind women and the three special little girl are so sweet and lovely.

The evening started with a magic mirror, disco and lots of dancing. The children were crazy on the dance floor and the best man even joined in with them! It was a beautiful day full of beautiful people. A ceremony made so perfect for a perfect pair. Thank you Kathy and Andy for choosing me to photograph your special day. It was an honour and one I will never forget.

A beautiful relaxed marriage full of entire happiness.
