Ever looking for an alternative for your childs 1st birthday. Did you ever think of having just a fun freely flowing location session? Well thats what Amy and Marc booked for their daughter ahead of her first birthday!

Amy got in contact with me in the autumn to book in a woodland session for their little girl as she was turning one. They didn’t want the usual cake smash so instead opted for this. It was perfect as I mentioned they could combine her session with a family session so it was a great opportunity to get some good shots!

Scouting for locations, I recommend Hockley Woods. I photographed Hockley Woods the previous year and for around the Rayleigh/Benfleet area its such a lovely place locally to have some family snaps done!

We met one Sunday morning, it was a little cold but dry skies and just entered a small area of the woodland which I though would be a perfect setting. The weather hadn’t been the best leading up to the session so muddy areas were definitely being avoided!

Little I, I’ll call her, was just starting to get on her feet. With some aided walking and some little stumbles she had the best time. She loved the bubbled that Mum brought along and giggled with Daddy were the best.

Family session like this are my favourite. They are so sweet and intimate and hold so many beautiful memories. We ended the session with some snacks on the blanket. It was all picture perfect.
