Sarah and Faye booked me for their wedding last year after I had photographed their friends in the July. I couldn’t wait to meet these two and photograph their day. There is something about same sex marriages that I absolutely love. Their passion and freedom is out of this world and Sarah and Faye’s wedding was no exception.
I met with Sarah and Faye at their local pub one week day evening just weeks before their wedding. They are so chilled back and so am I so we was happy to do so quite close to the date.
Sarah and Faye chose to get married at Langtons House and Gardens which is a venue I have photographed a few times now and one of my all time faves! It’s a little hidden gem in the heart of Hornchurch and for those who are not local don’t understand how a Registry Office can be so beautiful but yes, it is amazingly beautiful and have the most perfect gardens too! As a venue I know very well it made our meet all the more easier, they was happy for me to do my thing and do my thing is what I love to do! Does that even make sense? You know what I mean.
Sarah and Faye’s reception was to be held at the Cranleigh in Hornchurch, which was a short walk away from the Ceremony venue. This was great as it meant there was no need for transport and it left enough time for our couple shots before heading their in cars and we all sort of arrived at the same time!
Sarah and Fayes wedding was so emotional. From the moment I arrived at Langtons House it was mission don’t let anyone see the brides. Both Sarah and Faye walked the aisle and both didn’t want to be seen by any of the guests prior to this. Sarah went first and looked absolutely beautiful, for those who know Sarah, she never wears dresses! So the shock of a dress and looking out of this world bought people to tears on its own. Faye again looked like a real life princess in her ruffled wedding dress. Both brides got their dresses from WED2BE which is an amazing bridal boutique in essex with beautiful reasonable priced gowns too!
With a ceremony full of emotion and tons of bridesmaids on hand to shed a tear that it was everything you ever wished it to be. The room was lit of pure happiness and so much love and you really couldn’t ask for anything more on your wedding day.
With family shots going underway and lots of bridal party fun with both brides it was time for the guests to head to the reception and go on to our couple shots. It’s the one thing we had been waiting for and couple wait to begin, although it was a very very hot day!
We walked around the grounds of Langtons House creating moments just perfect between the two. Lots of laughter, some strange looks to me to which I replied “trust me” and some non achey feet. Oh yes we ditched the shoes for this part too! Moments screaming as wasps came near and tears of laughter at trying to get that perfect shot. It was such a memorable moment and some of my favourite photographs from the day!
On to the Cranleigh we went where Sarah and Faye had been the previous day and set everything up. Everything from the chair covers, to the centre pieces. The sweet table, to the over design Sarah and Faye did themselves. That meant so much more to them and was totally cost effective too. The Cranleigh put on a delicious spread of food for all to enjoy and my time with Sarah and Faye ended with some amazing speeches from some of their nearest and a 1st dance.
It was the perfect day for a perfect couple and I thoroughly enjoyed photographing their happiness and love.
